It's time to vote for the 2010 Dayton-Wright AFCEA Officers! Listed below, you will find the Dayton-Wright AFCEA Chapter 2010 Officer Ballot and Nominee Biographies.

All completed ballots must be returned to the attention of Ms. Andrea Kunk via email (andrea.kunk@epeerless.com), or by regular mail at 2300 National Road, Fairborn, OH 45324, or you may deliver them in person at the listed address. All ballots must have your name and membership ID included.

In order to be eligible to vote, you must be a Member in Good Standing, which means that only active members (not expired members) as of the date of the original mailing, 2 November 2009, may vote in this election. If you are not sure of the status of your membership, please feel free to contact Ms. Linda Skinner, Membership VP at 937.912.0288 x104.

BIOGRAPHIES

President

Hart, David - Mr. David Hart is a former US Army Ranger, Master Parachutist, and currently Director of Sales and Marketing for Segue Technologies and Vice President of Networking for the Dayton-Wright Chapter of AFCEA. Over the last year he has led his AFCEA team to organize a Dayton Dragons Ticket for Troops event, initiated several pre-lunch Power Networking sessions, launched and manages the chapter social networking page on LinkedIn, organized and submitted the chapter awards for 2008, led the team effort to completely redesign the chapter website and along with his networking team, made extensive contact with local government and community leaders and associations. David also participates on the chapter strategic planning committee. He believes that people accomplish great things when we collaborate as a team, working towards a shared vision with common goals and mutual accountability. His number one team is his wife Lori and three young boys, Peter (9), Jake (7) and Ben (4), they reside in Mason, Ohio.

Nelson, Norm - Mr. Norman Nelson is a LIFE Member of AFCEA and a member of the Dayton-Wright Chapter for the past 14 Years. He has been the Chapters Vice President of: Membership, Corporate Membership, Awards, YEOMAN Society and the past 2nd Vice President for the Chapter. Norman was the "inaugural" recipient of the “Yeoman” Award, Nov. 2000. He has received the following AFCEA International level awards: Numerous Five Star Club Awards, the President's Club and Chairman's Award for member recruitment, Leadership Award - 2008, Medal of Merit - 2001, Meritorious Service Award - 1999, AFCEA of the Month - 1997. Norman has been Chairman/Developer of the M*A*S*H Bash Member Appreciation/Recruitment Program, 1998/99 and a key member of the chapter AFCEA Military Appreciation Picnic Committee - 2002. He has supported all Chapter events: Valentines Ball - Silent Auction Chairman, Golf Tournament - Member Recruitment, Member Appreciation Events - M*A*S*H Bash / My Generation / Dragon's Baseball Event, and InfoTech. He currently proudly serves as your Executive Vice President.

Executive Vice President

McComb, Craig - Mr. Craig McComb is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for HQ Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC) and the 88 CG SC. His has served the Wright-Patterson AFB community as the Deputy Director, Transformation for HQ Air Force Material Command (AFMC) and specifically supported the Information Technology (IT) community as the Technical Director for AFMC IT Directorate. His experience leading large diverse organizations as a senior management professional will serve him well as he seeks to be the Executive V.P. for the Dayton-Wright Chapter. Craig’s outstanding leadership over the past year as the 2009 InfoTech Conference Chair is indicative of his capabilities to lead this chapter to new heights in the future. Actively strives to achieve practical balance between proactive engagement leveraging collaborative and collegial relationships. Believes in community volunteering. Strives for inclusion of other perspectives and suggestions. Able to understand and meet dynamic challenges/opportunities and provide leadership as necessary. Actively engaged to support and further the mission of AFCEA, and is aggressive towards the success of the Dayton-Wright Chapter. Mr. McComb is an active volunteer supporting of Kettering City Swim Team; UD MIS Advisory Board member and Bellbrook school system and community ; Bellbrook schools and Bellbrook community supporter. Mr. McComb has been a longtime supporter of AFCEA, an active Individual member of the Dayton-Wright (D-W) Chapter for over 3 years and has pledged his financial support with AFCEA for another 3 Years – on the D-W Team through 2012!

Vice President of Operations

DeMolet, Kathy - Ms. DeMolet is the Vice President, DeMolet Consulting; a marketing and business development company specializing in small businesses. She held the position of AFCEA Vice President of Scholarships 6 yrs and was the Vice President of Operations in 2009. She has been a Dayton-Wright Chapter member since 1998.

Reynolds, Jim - Mr. Reynolds is retired Air Force member with experience in both Financial and Logistics career fields. He has previous experience as chapter treasurer and fiscal law trainer for another base professional organization. He is currently supporting an Information Technology solution for the Air Force; an opportunity that wouldn’t have been available without training and education. He understands the value and rewards of an excellent training & education program and would like to help others achieve the same. He would be honored to serve the Dayton-Wright AFCEA chapter members.

Vice President of Information

Grill, Bill - Mr. Grill is the Director of Business Development with The Coffing Corporation and current webmaster for the AFCEA Dayton-Wright chapter. Mr. Grill has been involved with the chapter website through design, development, deployment, and now sustainment. He is responsible for all content management, updates, and releases of the website. Other contributions to the AFCEA Dayton-Wright Chapter include his assistance on the AFCEA Spring Swing Golf committee, AV assistance during luncheons, volunteering with the Young AFCEAns, and teaching other AFCEA Officials how to edit/maintain the website.

Vice President of Membership

Osborne, Brian - Mr. Osborne started at Ross Group Inc in 2007 and was put in charge of establishing and growing the company’s Defense business in 2008. Within just a few years, Mr. Osborne has assisted growing Ross Group’s overall business by about 15%, with its largest customer being the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at WPAFB. Mr. Osborne graduated from Wright State in 2006 and once again in 2008 with his MBA from Regis University in Denver. Ross Group is well known for its Oracle and Microsoft database services, application/tool development capabilities, and a wide range of web service technologies. Mr. Osborne’s activities with AFCEA deal with starting up and managing the Young AFCEAn program for the Dayton area. Currently, Young AFCEANs meet once a month for networking and socializing at The Pub at the Greene, as well as volunteer annually at the AF Marathon. The Young AFCEAn program was put into place to attract and retain young professionals to the defense field, all while making them comfortable and knowledgeable with benefits of networking and being active in industry organizations.

Plewe, Danna - Ms. Plewe has an active history of participation in the military and local communities as a liaison officer, strategic communicator, and school board member. Coming from both a military and education background, she believes in the importance of developing strong ties and relationships throughout all aspects of the defense community, and has worked towards strengthening these partnerships through initiatives that support this aim. She has enjoyed working with AFCEA to raise awareness and support for the scholarship foundation with the Spring Swing, Special Events Committee, and currently serve as co-chair for the 2010 Valentine Ball. She looks forward to working with AFCEA in the future.

Lt. Brice Virell - Lt. Brice Virell is an accomplished engineer and leader in the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright Patterson AFB, as well as an active “three year” member in the Dayton-Wright Chapter of AFCEA. Currently, Lt. Virell is working toward completion of a Masters Degree in Engineering Management at the University of Dayton, while simultaneously leading research projects in the areas of Thermal Protection Systems, and Laser Peening technologies for the AFRL Materials and Manufacturing Directorate. Lt. Virell is also working hard to be a bridge between the Young AFCEAN program and the Company Grade Officers Council (CGOC) at Wright-Patterson AFB. By holding the position of Social Director for the CGOC on base, Lt. Virell will open communication between the young officers stationed at Wright-Patt and the Young AFCEAN program with energized military officers and thus boost our overall Chapter membership.

Vice President of Programs

Curtis, Dan - Mr. Curtis has been an AFCEA member from almost a decade, while being employed at BearingPoint and now having started his own company. He was previously a featured speaker for the organization while serving community interests at the Dayton Development Coalition (DDC). He has participated in many AFCEA events over the years, including being BearingPoint’s primary liaison with AFCEA and arranging the company’s sponsorship of luncheons golf outings, and other special events. In addition, he arranged corporate sponsorship for BearingPoint’s booth at InfoTech for many years and has participated in the conference for more than 10 years. He served as the Dayton Wright Chapter VP of Programs in 2009 and sought to provide quality luncheon speakers and increase attendance. 2009 speakers included Lt. General Hudson, Mr. Rick Peters, SES, and in November, Major General Curt Bedke. In addition to his role as VP of Programs, Mr. Curtis has been very involved supporting other chapter activities including the 2010 Valentine’s Ball.

Vice President Networking

Decker, Ed - Mr. Ed Decker is a successful Business Development Manager and is currently the serves as the Chief of Operations for BTAS Inc. Ed is a retired USAF Chief Master Sergeant and obtained that rank at the 18 yr. point of his 22 yr. career as an Aircraft Flight Mechanic. Ed considers himself a type “A” personality = with improvements. As such, he charges “full steam ahead” when he feels strongly about something, such as AFCEA, and is aggressive towards the success of the Dayton-Wright Chapter. He has been an active “associate” member of the Dayton-Wright (D-W) Chapter for over 8 years. As the BD Manager for BTAS, he was directly responsible for supporting this Chapter’s events such as the annual Valentines Ball, D-W Golf Tournaments, Member Appreciation Event = M*A*S*H Bash as well as the D-W InfoTech Conferences for the past 6 years. Ed supports AFCEA International at various other conferences as well = C4ISR @ Hanscom AFB, MA, the AFTIC @ Montgomery, AL and the AF SPACECOM conference in Colorado with Vendor Booth occupancy and Technical Presentations. Mr. Decker understands the importance of Chapter volunteerism as well, sponsoring time and materials for both a past Chapter President and a Chapter Secretary.

 

Weinstein, Casey - Mr. Casey Weinstein is a 2004 graduate from the United States Air Force Academy and a 2007 graduate of the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. He currently works as the Director of DOD Business Operations for RhinoCorps, Ltd. Co, a modeling and simulation company. This is Casey's second full year as an AFCEA member. He is currently finishing his term as the co-Young AFCEAn. Casey lives with his wife and USAFA classmate Amanda, who is a PhD student at Ohio State.

Vice President of Enlisted Affairs

TSgt Joel Tanner - TSgt Tanner has served the USAF for 18 years. TSgt Tanner is an Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) Technician by trade/training - more commonly called Electronic Warfare (EW) in AF lingo. However, presently he is an Anechoic Chamber Tech at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). Serving as the AFCEA Dayton-Wright VP Enlisted Affairs, he participated on the M*A*S*H Bash 2007 Committee, contributing to the party prop/set-up team and recruiting enlisted AFCEANs to help. He was a representative at the Transitions Careers Military Intelligence Job Fair where he gave a presentation and recruited 3 new enlisted AFCEANs. At the April 25, 2008 graduation ceremony, he presented a $250 book scholarship check to a board selected Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) graduate on behalf of AFCEA Dayton-Wright. Most recent and notable are TSgt Tanner's efforts in support of the AFCEA Dayton-Wright Chapter Scholastic Assistance (SA) program. In 2008, he distributed $9,133.70 in SA checks to enlisted undergraduate students. $4740.30 has been contributed in 2009.

Secretary

Colton, Brenda - In 2009, Ms. Colton was elected by membership to serve as the Chapter and Board of Director's Secretary. From 2003-2009, she has authored over fifty monthly articles and special pieces for the AFCEA Signal magazine. She has volunteered as a founding member of the InfoTech Conference Career Fair from 2006-2009. She supported the 2001-2008 MASHBASHs (Membership Appreciation Social Hospitality Bash) as a volunteer. In 2006 and 2007 she served as the MASHBASH Corporate Donation Chair for Mr. Doug Wood, Chairman. From 2006-2008, served as Chapter Vice President of Publicity. Brenda was awarded the 2007-2008 Yeoman Award for meritorious service. She served as the 2006-2008 Valentine Ball Chairman. Her teams raised over $15,000 for the Chapter Scholarship Fund. Brenda manned membership booths at Industry job fairs and InfoTech from 2003-2006. Brenda was selected by AFCEA International as AFCEAN of the Month in 2008 and featured in the national Signal Magazine AFCEAN of the Month section.

Doyon, Susan - Ms. Doyon is currently providing AA&S support as Sr. Schedule Analyst to the Enterprise Finance (554 ELSG/ED) Program Management Office at WPAFB. She directly supports the Defense Enterprise Accounting Management System (DEAMS) Program Management Office categorized as an ACAT 1AM pre-MDAP program. As Program Schedule Analyst, she works with the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and AF-Level stakeholders to Schedule, plan, and prepare DEAMS for key Acquisition Reviews, lifecycle Milestone events, and program audits, assessments based on a incremental series of strategy reviews. Susan strong interpersonal skills enable her to maintain a positive outlook even when dealing with difficult situations. Susan motto is, "If you believe, you can achieve." She raises the bar for work ethic and commitment to high professional standards. This philosophy has served her well in her professional and personal lives. She is well respected amongst her co-workers and peers. Her sense of humor, honesty, warmth, and amiability touch all those who know and work with her. She creates an environment where management and employees work together harmoniously. She embodies professionalism! She is always willing to go above and beyond in order to help those who need assistance.

Treasurer

Reinhard, Ray - Mr. Ray Reinhard has been a member of the Dayton-Wright chapter of AFCEA since 2000. As such he has served the chapter in seven different capacities including the InfoTech 2008 conference and tradeshow chairperson. Prior to that Ray served as the vice chair for the 2007 InfoTech conference. Over the past several years Ray has worked in several capacities for the chapter including AFMC CIO Summit coordinator, Plenary session chairperson, overall Program Chairperson and most recently stepped in to become the chapter treasurer when the elected treasurer was incapacitated. Ray was elected treasurer this past month and continues to serve the chapter in that capacity. Raymond is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with a broad Wright-Patterson-centric career.
