Networking
Through industry related events and personal tools we strive to faciliate productive business connections between civic, government and other professional organizations.
AFCEA Power Networking
Pre-luncheon Networking: Structured match making sessions prior to the monthly chapter luncheons. No favoritism for any one corporate sponsor.
Online Communities
Another way to engage and to expand your professional connections beyond the limits of your geographical boundaries is by joining one or more of AFCEA’s International online groups. Many professionals are joining and finding ways of connecting with friends, colleagues and peers using these social networking platforms. AFCEA has a group on two popular networking sites, Facebook and LinkedIn. Ever hear of Second Life? Even if you’re still working on your first one, this virtual environment platform features a number of simulations owned by government agencies and educational institutions. AFCEA has a group for members and an island under construction that will soon have meeting facilities, virtual classrooms, an auditorium for streaming video content and a simulated expo hall. The Vice President of Networking develops programs that will facilitate the collaboration among the various entities mentioned below. Government Networking
The Director of Government Networking is responsible for engaging senior government leaders (i.e., Group Commanders, SPO Directors, Headquarter Directors, etc.) to ensure they are aware of AFCEA and the need for their support as well as their organizations’ support of the Dayton-Wright Chapter and its objectives. Civic Interaction
The Director of Civic Interaction is responsible for engaging leaders of local civic groups (i.e., Dayton Development Coalition, Technology First (formerly Greater Dayton IT Alliance), etc.) to explore potential partnering opportunities.
Professional Organizations
The Director of Professional Organizations is responsible for engaging other professional organizations with similar goals as AFCEA (i.e., AFA, National Military Intelligence Association, Dayton Area Defense Contractors Association, NDIA, etc.) to establish relationships that will foster potential teaming opportunities to develop “joint” special events.
